Belize continues to exist in my head as a swirly dream-land, something that happened too quickly to be real. As I reflect on my experiences, I get more and more excited about starting my contribution to the educational world.
With that, I’m happy to say that my writing is taking a natural turn from travel and student teaching to the educational climate in the U.S. and abroad. I re-vamped the blog name, site name, and even gave myself a new name (S.G…just my initials, no biggie!) It’s rough seas out there right now, with one side of the political spectrum pulling at the other, not to mention the general election this year. What a crazy time to be looking for a job!
What you can expect to see/hear from me:
1. My friend Gretchen is volunteering in Morocco for Education For All (EFA) Morocco. Take a look at the site. Pretty cool stuff. She will be contributing/guest posting, so watch out for that.
2. Resources and links to articles around the web that inform/highlight certain issues that are huge right now in education: accountability, teacher merit pay, charter schools, teacher preparation, No Child Left Behind (NCLB), etc.
3. News from a project Nicole and I are working on…(you’ll have to wait, it’s a surprise!)
